(-) = less than expected. (+) = as expected. (++) = better than expected. Qualification is for camping only, not for any other accommodation. (byo) = bring your own. (R) = restaurant on site. Rates for camping are for 2 people per night. Prices in South Africa and Namibia can be high because they charge per site (max. 4-8 people). For people who do not like camping: every campsite we were also had chalets/roundavel and/or rooms.
Voltage: 220V (3 round pins in SA and NAM, 3 square pins in Zam)
Want to have a refund of paid VAT in SA (min.?) and Namibia (min.N$250)? When leaving the country ask customs for a VAT refund form.
Dont drive the N2 but take the much nicer R102 when youre doing the Garden Route.
Do not (as we did) go in December to South Africa because: prices double or triple due to national holidays no whales in December but between June and November Robben island fully booked for at least 3 days too much wind (table mountain closed)
